Press-conference and Final Marketing Monitoring Committee Meeting of Project One Destination Two Countries

On 7 and 8 June 2018 at the office of Uzunkopru Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkey was held the final Marketing Monitoring Committee meeting  under the project: “One destination two countries”, reg. № CB005.1.22.134 and subsidy contract РД-02-29-40/20.03.2017, financed under the first call of project proposal under the Interreg Programm for Cross-Border Cooperation Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020 CCI: 2014TC1615CB005. The meeting was attended by 4 team members and 4 representatives of the Partners’ management – Uzunkopru CCI, Turkey and Haskovo CCI, Bulgaria. The project began in March 2017 and lasts for 15 months.

A press conference was made during the first day, which was opened by Ercan İHTİYAR – Chairman of Uzunkopru CCI and Yancho Yanev – Chairman of Haskovo CCI. During the press conference was presented the implementation of the project and the achieved results, as follows:

-          20 Bulgarian and Turkish experts were trained on Destination Planning and Destination Marketing;

-          A Marketing Plan on the border tourism in the cross-border region Haskovo-Edirne;

-          A Joint Marketing Monitoring Committee was gather to observe the implementation of the Project’s activities;

-          A mobile application for Android and iPhone was developed: UTSO MOBIL;

-          Information material was prepared – brochure, Crafts Catalogue of the cross-border region, promotional video clips about the possibilities for tourism and a website: .

-          The possibilities for tourism in the cross-border region were presented successfully by the members of the Marketing Monitoring Committee at the International Exhibition ITB Berlin, Germany in the period 7-11 March 2018.  

The meeting ended with a discussion on the provision of sustainability to the results achieved under the project.
