Consumer Centre - Haskovo was created within project "Creation of good practice and partnership between CSS and the administration for effective work on protecting the rights of consumers." The project is implemented with the financial support of Operational Programme "Administrative Capacity" 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.

Target groups:

1) Target group of the project are CSS, whose capacity will be improved under the project.

2) 120 CSS across the country.

3) 12 representatives of the administration of the country.

Objectives and main activities

Overall objective: Strengthening the capacity of civil society structures for the implementation of national policies and achieve effective partnership with state administration regarding the protection of consumer rights.

Specific objectives:

- Improving knowledge and skills of 120 representatives of the NGO sector;

- Creating effective forms of dialogue between CSS and the administration in the face of local and executive power;

- Increased public awareness;

- Create 3 ECCs of representatives of CSS - Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Haskovo, Shumen and Vidin.

- Creation of know-how and good practices.

Main activities:

1. Project Management / Administrative activities.

2. Study on legislation related to consumer protection and development of Proceedings regulations of Bulgarian government and EU regulations.

3. Preparation of the User Guide.

4. Conducting 6 trainings on "Interaction of CSS and the administration towards protecting the rights of consumers."

5. Start the activity of 3 customer centers.

6. Implementation of the National Conference on methods of interaction between the       Administration with CSS for protection of consumer rights.

7. Information campaign.

Consumer Centers

Consumer centers provide the following services:

- Free consultations concerning the protection of consumer rights;

- Assistance in preparation of complaints and requests to institutions and local administration;

-  Information materials and information to users of CSS, representatives of CSS, population.
