Members of Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Participated in the Bulgarian-Libyan Business Forum in Haskovo

At the invitation of Mr. Yancho Yanev, Chairman of the Board of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), on October 10, 2024, Dr. Nasser Abdulkarim, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Libya, visited the city of Haskovo to hold a business forum with HCCI members.

During the forum, topics were discussed with representatives of Bulgarian businesses regarding the recovery of the city of Derna in eastern Libya after last year’s floods caused by the powerful storm Daniel, as well as opportunities for Bulgarian companies to participate with specific projects for the reconstruction of the economy and infrastructure. The forum also provided local companies the opportunity to present their profiles and capabilities.

Dr. Nasser Abdulkarim explained that Libya is open to ideas and proposals for economic cooperation in all areas. He thanked the attendees and noted that Bulgarian construction companies were once among the best in their field, and that Bulgarian medical professionals are still working in the country.

Mr. Yancho Yanev, Chairman of HCCI, emphasized that the Chamber has an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce in Benghazi and maintains very good relations for the benefit of business.
