The traditional business meeting with diplomatic representatives took place in Haskovo

On February 14, 2020 the traditional business meeting of the region was organized in Haskovo for the twenty-fifth time, organized by the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) with the assistance of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The official guests of the forum were representatives of diplomatic missions in Bulgaria - ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, China, Palestine, Slovakia, South Africa, and advisers to the Embassies of Belarus, Indonesia, Spain, China, Russian Federation , Serbia and trade attaché of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv.

The diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad were Angel Angelov, Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Istanbul, and Atanas Dimov - Consul in Edirne. Also this year, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Chamber of Commerce of Babaeski, Turkey, the Trade Exchange - Uzunköprü, Turkey, as well as the chairmen of 15 regional chambers of commerce and about 60 representatives of companies. The guest of the meeting was Desislava Gospodinova from the Directorate General European Competitiveness Funds at the Ministry of Economy.

The meeting was opened by Yancho Yanev - Chairman of MB of HCCI. He congratulated the guests of the meeting and thanked the representatives of the diplomatic corps for their participation in the event. "The idea of these meetings is to form contacts in an informal environment that will develop the business relations of the Bulgarian employers," said the Chairman of the HCCI.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov welcomed the guests of the forum and presented the priorities of the Association of the organizations of the Bulgarian employers for 2020. He emphasized the measures for improving the business climate; accelerated resolution of human resources problems and overall energy reform. "I thank the Regional Chamber - Haskovo for organizing the meeting, which is an opportunity for businesses to ask questions and make suggestions for improving the economy," Simeonov noted.

During the meeting, the executive director of the Trakia Economic Zone - Plamen Panchev, indicated that he hoped to attract an investor in Haskovo soon, which would be useful for the development of the economy in the region.

At a formal ceremony, the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored companies and individuals for achieving high results and helping to promote regional business:

  • White Water Company Ltd.  - for active participation in HCCIs initiatives in the country and abroad;
  • Association of the Branch Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers - Haskovo - for a fruitful partnership with the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the benefit of the business.

The meeting continued with a wine and food tasting exhibition. 7 wineries and 8 food producers from the region took part in the exhibition.

The Conference of Committee Chairs took place during the meeting. Issues related to the activity of the Unified System of Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria were discussed.

The following day, the participants of the event were guests of the Municipality of Stambolovo, Haskovo District, where a traditional pruning of the vineyards was celebrated. The Mayor of Stambolovo Municipality, Adnan Yildiz, welcomed the guests and wished the winegrowers and winemakers in the region a fruitful and successful year. Diplomats and all guests enjoyed a folklore program and tasting of local wines and food.
