27.09.2016 Bulgarian-Iraqi business forum

On the 27th September 2016 in the conference hall of the Park hotel "Europe" was held Bulgarian-Iraqi business forum organized by the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) jointly with the Kurdistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Kurdish-Bulgarian Business Council.

Representatives of more than 60 Bulgarian and Iraqi companies participated in the business forum, which was opened by Yancho Yanev, Chairman of HCCI, who thanked the Kurdistan partners for the good cooperation over the past five years.

Forum participants were welcomed by Dobri Belivanov, Mayor of Municipality of Haskovo, who presented the projects of the municipality for the development of business and investment opportunities in the region. The event was attended by Angel Papazov, Mayor of Parvomai, who also emphasized the support of the municipality to support the Bulgarian-Kurdish cooperation in economic and cultural terms.

Soran Azeez, Vice-President of the Kurdistan Federation of Commerce and Industry and Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce - Erbil explained that Kurdistan is a safe and secure area for business development and highlighted promising sectors of cooperation - agriculture, tourism, construction and trade food and industrial goods.

Fatih Othman, a member of the MB of the Chamber of Commerce in Sulaimaniya presented development of business sectors in Syuleyumaniya and invited Bulgarian companies to visit the region.
