On 14.12.2012 Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry started the implementation of a project named: Joint Eco Forces of Small and Medium Enterprises of Cross-Border Region. Haskovo CCI will be partnering with Uzunkopru Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Turkey. The project will be implemented within 12 months and has a total budget of 109 402 EUR.
The main objective of the project is to use the cooperation potential of both Bulgaria and Turkey in order to achieve a balanced and sustainable development in the cross-border area, and thus to contribute to the expansion and strengthening of the European cooperation and unity. Under the project an online database related to the responsibilities of the SMEs to protect the environment, as well as, an on-line tool for environmental self-assessment of SMEs will be created; eco-mapping will be demonstrated. The target groups are:
• Enterprises, mainly SME from the programme eligible region (Bulgarian and Turkish): 2000;
• Business and sectoral organizations from the eligible region: 20
