A workshop under the SOCIAL FORCES project was held in Drama, Greece

On 19 and 20 December, 2019 a workshop entitled "Social Entrepreneurship - Problems, Challenges and Perspectives" was held in Drama, Greece, under the project "Rein FORCE SOCIAL entrepreneurial spirit through setting up innovative support structures in the cross-border territory" (SOCIAL FORCES), No 2023, within the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Program INTERREG VA Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020.

The workshop was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Drama and presented to local authorities, businesses, citizens and other stakeholders who had the opportunity to get acquainted with the opportunities and conditions for the development of social entrepreneurship in Greece and the cross-border region. The aim of the SOCIAL FORCES project is to increase the opportunities for introducing and development of social entrepreneurship. Successful models of the development of social enterprises were presented, such as the social enterprise Iliodora from Greece, which introduced us to the real results of a successful social business and the need for cooperation between institutions, business and the non-governmental sector in order to encourage people interested in social entrepreneurship to engage in this activity.

The event was attended by Haskovo Municipality, Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Reconstruction and Development Unit - Haskovo, Paisii Hilendarski University - Plovdiv, Rhodopi Development Agency (Greece), Drama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Xanthi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, GNOSI ANAPTIXIAKI and business representatives from Greece.

At the end of the workshop the participants had the opportunity to discuss the difficulties related to the development of social entrepreneurship related to financing and employment.
